I've gotten almost all of my parts in now for water cooling my rig.

PA 120.2
DD TDX
Maze 4
DFI expert chipset block
D5 pump

Going in a Lian Li V1000B PlusII for a Opty 165 and 7900 GT on a DFI SLI DR - Expert

Now, I just need some help with setting it all up.

1st: I've seen a lot of people mention different ways they prep their WC gear. I've seen a few mentions of using scrubbing bubbles on the rad. Its a PA 120.2. Do I just inject the scrubbing bubbles directly into it, or mix with water? Also, do I do this to all of the parts? (the NB, CPU, and GPU block) or just the rad?

I've also seen a few people mention using vinegar on the radiator. How long, do I dilute it, and do I do it to all of the parts?

2nd: I'm not sure which order to run the loop in. I'll have the rad at the top of the case and the pump either at the bottom of the 5 1/4 drives, or at the bottom near the mobo. I'm not sure if it should go CPU -> chipset -> GPU -> rad -> pump, or what. Also, where in the loop would the T line go?

3rd: Exahust or intake for the rad fans? Also, I'm going to try to have the radiator and fans inside the case. Should it be radiator next to the case and then the fans, or fans next to the case and then radiator?

Can't think of anything else, but if anyone has any suggestions for a WC noob please feel free to let me know.

I already know to leak test outside of the case.
 
I like to flush each copper component in the system with full strength vinegar, then some "Fantastic with bleach" then water. The Fantastic turns neon red when it's used inside anything tarnished. The vinegar should turn green. The vinegar bath can be about an hour for waterblocks, and overnight for the radiator, (change it every 5 hrs or so).

Lots of people insist on using distilled water to clean everything out after the vinegar/bubbles/fantastic, and this is a good idea if your components will be sitting around for a couple of days before put to use. If you're going to transfer them from their vinegar bath to the board, and fill the system in a few hours or so, regular tap water is a good idea. Scrubbing bubbles is a good product, so I've heard, but I can't test it as it's not sold (yet, dammit) in Canada.

I just set everything out on a cloth, and use a funnel to fill each of them with the respective cleaning agent.

As for the loop setup... Many put the tline right before the pump inlet. Your loop path (CPU -> chipset -> GPU -> rad -> pump) will work well.

Fans pulling air through the rad (not pushing) perform better than the opposite scenario, you also get a great side effect, they're quieter. The radiator/fans next to the case question will depend on how restrictive the gratings on your fan holes are... What case?
 
Its a Lian LI V1000B Plus II. The Fan gratings will be an AC Ryan Rad grill, so, not very restrictive at all. But, I just noticed that the holes on the grill dont line up properly w/ the PA 120.2 that I got... so, thats not good.
 
I actually just run plain distilled water through my loop to rinse things out. I've never used anything else and have never had any problems.

you'll want to set up your loop to do a leak test for a day or so to be sure that you won't get any leaks. You can do this w/o your pc components in your case or you can just not have them plugged in so they don' thave power.

for your loop it is usually best to have it set up like this (basically the same as was suggested above)

Pump > rad > cpu > gpu > chipset

with 3 blocks you might not get the greatest of all temps... a tripple rad would be better suited for your application
 
I think I F'd my new parts. I used Distilled white vinegar 5% solution on the Rad, pump, and all 3 blocks. I can see either tarnish or corrosion on all 3 of the copper blocks. Did I just completely ruin my blocks? Is the pump ok? I havn't opened it to see if there is anything wrong inside, what about the rad?

I'm very pissed at myself right now.

So what was the outcome here?
 
yeah... For tarnish, remove the acrylic portion of any block (acrylic + vinegar = bad) and soak it in Ketchup. Yep, that's right... Ketchup. Leave it for a few minutes then wash it off.

As I said, unless you're going from clean to in-use immediately, leaving water in the block will tarnish it.
 
Had surgery and wasn't able to get around to installing my WC parts until just this weekend.

The parts did tarnish, but, they still all appear to be in good working order. So far so good.
