I currently looking at building a new case and water solution.

Setup:
DFI NF4-SLI
AMD FX-55
2x 6600 gt
2x512 OCZ 3200 Plat Ed 2
520 OCZ PW

I want some advice about what to buy that will last and give me the best performance.
Not trying to start a flame ware, but please add what you would change out and why.
Just trying to find the best solution for about the same price.

This system number 1.
CASE: SilverStone TJ07 black
Water Kit: http://www.voyeurmods.com/index.php?action=item&id=2202 with BI Xtreme and all 3/8
GPU: http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=169
Total price: $816 shipped

Syatem 2:
Case: http://www.voyeurmods.com/index.php?action=item&id=917&prevaction=category&previd=2&prevstart=0
CPU Block: Swifttech Storm UV blue
GPU: http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=169

total=$724 shipped

Really not sure what direction I should go or if I should change this hardware out for some other like AC or MP5-SP.

Thanks!

my 2 cents is don't use voyeurmods. I had a really bad dealings with them: delayed sending, lies, crappy 'used looking' parts.
find another place to get your gear

either one looks good but unless your planning on using high CFM fans then I would go with the pro version rad instead of the extreme.

or a thermochill PA Radiator, I figure the radiator I will keep longer than the block (cause new CPU's might require new blocks)

The second option does not have a pump or radiator added to it?

Those cases both look nice, FrozenCPU has some nice cases too...

I'm no expert though, but for me the stacker T012 was the best water cooling case available, and if that is too big the TJ07 looks to be a close second.

Lian Li's require a bit more modding

I've used them many times with no problems. They're only 50 miles south so shipping is really cheap.

The second case takes all the fun out of modding the case yourself, but if you don't have the time/don't want to etc then having it done for you is a good option. *It has a Laing D5 and a dual heatercore on the bottom area/compartment).

My soon-to-be favorite WC case is the new Lian Li G70 (it's a pre-order at VMods now) - it's a Stacker mixed with a PC75. Has space for 2 PSU's, a triple rad on top, on the bottom, a PA160 or big heatercore on the bottom front with 2 120's native (front and back - not including the blowers).

I would recommend reading up on what is needed for watercooling. Then, purchase the tj07 case for yourself from monarch ($350 last I checked), the watercooling components from jabtech, svc etc...for another $250-300 to get the top of the line parts, install it yourself, and save yourself a few hundred dollars.
With the TJ07 I heard that you can install the dual 120 radiator down on the bottom without modifying the case anyways.

Thanks for the help!

This what I think I will do now, with some little questions before I pull the trigger and destroy my savings today :)

Case: Silerstone TJ07-B http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merc...ode=M&Product_Code=101054&Category_Code=C1-SS

Now my question is that, would this be a a good setup?

What fitting size for everything 1/ 2 or 3/8?

Res or T-line?

What would you change??

I have been reading about all this and cant seem to decide for my self.

Thanks!

as someone already said: don't get the extreme rad. the pro works better. HW lab's rating system is messed and the pro works better with reasonable fans.

the swiftech storm is a better block than the MP-05. reviews are hard to come by, but the MP-05 uses a very similar design to the flow-killingly restrictive nexxos XP.

there is no real need for tubing with such thick walls. i use it myself, but there's not any reason to do so under normal opperating conditions.

i use a T-line and it works fine. get the loop most of the way full, turn on the pump and let it bleed the rest of the air out. plenty of other people use a res. get the loop as full as is humanly possible, and there is minimal bleed time.

i don't use non-conductive additive myself. you need to leak test, whatever you use, and water with a little antifreeze is cheap and high performing.

Ok, I will change the xtreme to a pro and go with a t line for now.

So you say 3/8" then for tubing and fittings??

I have used both the 3/8 and 1/2 and although I am not sure whether there is a significant performance difference between the two, I know that 3/8ID will be less bulky, easier to work with, and more aesthetically pleasing than the 1/2. I am using the 1/2 now since I have the storm and a good pump, but I have to admit that the tubbing at this size does take up a lot of space.

what i was actually suggesting for the tubing was that you stay iwth 1/2" ID and get something with 1/16" thick walls, rather than the 1/8" thick walls on the tygon that you put up.

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ty3id1ulsovi.html would be the super-premium option. plenty of people use and are happy with the 7/16" generic tubing from mcmaster carr.

pick your cooling methodology. high flow and high performance with your current pump, rad, block and tubing size, or a much weaker pump, much smaller tubing, a unnecessarily restrictive rad and a block with unknown performance characteristics.

the A-C gear will cool your proc well enough and look pretty while doing it. the domestic equipment will perform better and not look as nice.

i would once again suggest the swiftech storm waterblock over and above the MP-05 because you are cooling proc and two video cards. the storm is the best performing mass produced block out there, and is probably somewhat less restirctive than the MP-05 meaning that your other components will most likely be cooled better.

I second the storm...also, I totally agree with DFI Daishi, go with the 1/2 ID tubing and the storm. To get the most out of that setup, you need a powerful pump, a Danger den D5 or D6 pumps would do that. D6 is more powerful than the D5 and is about the same level of low noise.
Also, don't skimp on the radiator. I have a thermochill HE120.2 and it really helps. I have a D6, storm block cooling an opty 170 at 1.62V running at 2.9Ghz (soon to be higher), 2 maze4 cooling 2 overclocked 7800gts. With the setup above, the opty170 never go beyond 48C under load (ambient 25C), the video cards never go beyond 42C underload.
This is the third iteration of watercooling setup I have had. I had the koolance exos, the asetek waterchill (rbx waterblock) and the storm with He120.2 and D6 pump. By far this setup is the best in both noise and functionality.

Also, go to jab-tech, svc or sharka for your parts...Jab-tech is normally cheaper than frozencpu which is most of the time is still cheaper than danger den. The dual maze4 sli setup is only $109 at jab-tech while it is $129 at dangerden.

I do want the Storm, I just cant find any in stock :(
That is why i am trying to find the next best thing to the storm which some people said the MP5-SP whould be the closest.

If I could find a storm in stock I wil buy it, until then any other blocks besides the storm?

The other one that is about or slightly less in performance is the apogee...
Of course some people will disagree and since I have never used it, that is from some reviews I read...
From personal experience, the RBX is pretty good too...it was 2C less in performance to the storm with my setup, with everything else being the same...

Well, I just bought the storm with the 655 pump from swifttech's site :)
Never even thought of buying straight from thier site.

I also bought the BI Pro 120x2 rad and the R3603 for tubing.

Thanks for all the help and I will be back with lots of pics!!
