New videocards anytime soon?

Any one hear anything about when the next gen cards are coming? I plan on getting an Athlon X2 4400+ or somewhere around there, paired up with pci-e with the next gen card.
Main reason is my current machine in sig can't handle my 2405FPW at native res.

At least that is for the ATi next gen cards, there hasn't been much speculation as to when the nvidia next gen is coming out.
