Hey everyone - thank you as always for helping out on this :)

Here is the questions and my thoughts on a rig - input as I am no where near as in the loop as I used to be on hardware is hugely appreciated!

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Primarily for encoding/editing 1080p video from a GoPro, some lighter gaming (D3), storage, and web browsing
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$2000
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Calgary Canada - would purchase from Memoryexpress.com
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Full Desktop PC, Monitor (24"), KB/Mouse, and speakers
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Full new build!
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
Plan to purchase a 24" monitor in the build
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Today
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Full featured board
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
I have all licensing handled, no need to put in budget

The build that I am thinking is the following:

Liteon
iHAS124 24X DVD-Writer, SATA, Black, OEM - $18.99
Antec
Three Hundred Two Case - $79.99
Samsung
840 EVO Series Solid State Drive, 250GB - $179.99
Seagate
2TB Desktop HDD SATA III w/ 64MB Cache - $199.98 (2 for RAID1)
Asus
Z97-A w/ DDR3 1600, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit LAN, SLI / 3-Way CrossFireX - $164.99
Corsair
Vengeance LP 16GB DDR3 1600MHz CL10 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 8GB) - $179.99
Silverstone
Strider Gold S Series 750W Power Supply - $139.99
eVGA
GeForce GTX 760 SuperClocked 2GB PCI-E w/ ACX Cooler, Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort - $299.99
LG
23MP55HQ-P 23in Widescreen IPS LED LCD - $169.99
Logitech
Z313 2.1 Multimedia Speakers - $49.99
Logitech
Wireless Wave Combo MK550 - $79.99
Intel
Core™ i5-4570 Processor, 3.20GHz w/ 6MB Cache - $224.99

Sub Total:
$1,788.87 (plus 5% Tax)

I have not price matched anything.

Any insight as to what I can suggest for better value or better pieces?

$299.99 for a GTX 760 right now would be a bad deal. Should be able to get a 770 for that.

Thanks for the reply :)

We also are in Canada so our prices are a bit out of whack

I would suggest a second monitor so you have the controls on one and the video on the other.

The only thing I can think of for encoding is a 6 core build

It would really help if you could say what software you will be using for encoding/editing 1080p video.
