Aaaaand that's the way the cookie crumbles

Heh, sorry about that, I just couldn't help myself, your post was so short and ended quite abruptly and that's the only thing that popped into my head. ;)

I'm not to "up" on american prices right now so I think I'll let one my Yankee friends around here field this one for ya.
:p

thanks.. i dont care which one it is ATI or nvidia just need a good priced card

read the forums, it's all over what you should get............ the search function is also enabled.

Again, I'm not to up on american prices, but Newegg has the eVGA (not in stock though) 6800NU for a nice $283. You can go a BIT over your budget and land the eVGA 6800GT for $424 off Newegg (once they get stock in) which would be basically the best card you're gonna get for $400 right now.....only things that'll outdo it are the X800XT-PE and 6800U.....so I'd say you'd be getting one hell of a deal there.

how about POWERCOLOR ATI RADEON 9800XT Video Card, 256MB DDR,

Yeah, the 9800XT and 6800GT aren't even on the same playing field.....not even CLOSE to being worth it to go with a 9800XT right now. :p

Oh yeah...spending $400 on a 9800xt would be a huge waste of money...6800 GT all the way!

IF you have the $
go with a 6800 GT.

Else 6800

Exactly, both are excellent cards that are covering two different areas of the market right now. Seeing you get very nice Doom3 performance (along with so many other games too) its hard NOT to like what Nvidia has done with the vanilla 6800.
