New Video Card Possibility

Yes that card is a pretty substantial power increase from your current card. We sell quite a few of them at the store where I work. I am personally partial to Nvidia but you should be quite happy with that card. Just make sure that your motherboard does not have a Nforce 2 chipset because Radeon 9600's and Nforce 2 chipsets do not always agree very well.
 
for a hundred dollars more you could effectively get double the card. 9800pro 128meg
 
I also forgot to mention that this card would be for my secondary machine - word processing, a little warcraft III occasionally and surfing. I am gonna get a high end care in the next couple of months, so I'm just trying to move this one up a notch so its somewhat usable.

768 MB PC3200
Geforce 4 MX 440

but really this post is just for the bumpage....
 
I would look for possibly a 9600 Pro, as they can be found for less than 120 right now and provide pretty good performance.
