New/used computer build (involves diablo 3)

So basically a friend wants a gaming computer for diablo 3. I will use this opportunity to upgrade my current pc

My current build

core i7 920 D0
megahalems cooler
6GB 1600 ram
xfx 5870
evga x58 (older sata 2 usb 2.0)
intel 320 ssd
corsair 850hx

What I wanted to do was upgrade to ivy bridge with the new 3770k, new z77 mobo (most likely the gigabyte udh5 or something), 16gb new ram, a new graphics card (unsure yet), a new sata3 ssd, and reusing 2-4 hd's. Also, i'm running 3 24" dells at 1900x1200

I plan on using it for games (10%), general usage(50%), video processing/converting(30%) and some coding/programming (10%)

So here are my questions

1. Will diablo run fine on my current specs (920/6gb/5870)? Will it run great?

2. Should I keep my corsair 850hx? will it be enough for my new ivy build with lets say a 7950?

3. If i keep the 850hx, which power supply should i put in my friends computer (to power the 920, 2 hd's, and 5870)

4. What is a good upgrade from the 5870 (honestly i'm surprised its still listed so high on benchmarks)

5. when I built my current computer, the megahalems was one of the best coolers out there, but since then a lot of "simple" water coolers have come out like the h50/h60 and what not. Should I get one of those or get a new megahalems. I've never done any water cooling but the h50's seem simple. Are they quieter and perform better?
 
You're current setup is plenty powerful for Diablo 3. It's not a very demanding game. I'd say get a good overclock on that CPU, maybe get a new graphics card, and throw in a SSD (Crucial, Intel, or Samsung).

As for a graphics card upgrade, if you're going to run across all 3 monitors go with a GTX 680 or a 7970 since the 7970 isn't much more than the 7950 currently. If you wait a bit the beastly Saphire non-reference card will be on sale again supposedly.

That power supply is plenty for what you need. You could drop down to a 500w quality PSU for your old rig if you did decide to do a full upgrade.

Finally, the Corsair all in one water cooling solutions are alright. The H100 performs on par with top of the line air cooling. Unfortunately it's no where near the performance of real water cooling.
 
If you do decide to do a full upgrade, are you near a MicroCenter?

You can get a great deal now on a Z77 motherboard and 2600k CPU since they have the $50 off bundle and dropped their Sandy Bridge prices.
 
3. While K1tty is right that a solid 500W PSU would be enough for that, the price point for a lot of the 500W PSUs aren't that much lower than solid 600W+ PSUs. Considering how power hungry the i7 920 was when OC'd, I'd go with this PSU:
$75 - Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W PSU
