Core2Duo is a fair bit more expensive. I want the best value for money products. I didn't think there was that big of a difference between 677 and 800? I play most games that come out I prefer RTS and FPS I have a high turnover rate of games
I've never spent so much on a gxcard before, only reason I'm doing it is because it makes sense being a DX10 card and it completly owns the DX9 cards. As with going with Intel will it be a good performance/price option? i can get a dual 3800+ for $155AUD but a E4300 costs $235AUD the E6300 costs $261 an extra $100 if you guys think it's really worth it?
O and with the resolution I'm gonna buy a 22" widescreen LCD so whatever the native of that is (I forget) and with the settings ... well that's hard for me to say (whatever looks good )
at those prices, i dont think the core2duo is worth it if you think you only need the cheaper x2 3800+. you might want to look into the brisbane core models, as they can oc higher than the previous cores.
oh, and yes, ddr2-800 would make a noticeable difference over ddr2-667 on am2 platforms. with intel, not so much unless you're oc'ing. but with am2, the performance scaling is different, and as seen in the AT article, the am2 benefits greatly from ddr2-800.
