hi guys, im looking at a real budget gaming system, and, having found that the Pentium G860 wasnt enough, have been looking at an AMD setup.

the requirements are that it must be mini-itx, true quad core, as cheap as possibleand be able to play the latest games online (such as large map bf3)

i was considering a new AMD Athlon X4 740 3.20GHz

i have an H60 cooler so overclocking wouldnt be a problem

any suggestions? how would this cpu compare to say a Sandy Bridge Pentium or i3 ?

i will be selling my i5-3570k P8Z77-i combo to free up some funds

AMD isn't an option for you if you want mITX. The only available AMD mITX mobo on Newegg is for the now out of date socket FM1. Socket FM1 is completely incompatible with the socket FM2 AMD Trinity CPUs or any non-FM1 AMD CPUs.

So Intel is your only option for mITX.
