Ok i recently bought a new computer and i wanted to water cool it why? not sure just seems cool/fun to do ^^ Anyways i need help with like either a kit or WHAT do i need to water cool my pc i'm new to this so like i have no clue what i need.. so if you guys could help me get a kit with everything i need or in piece what i need I'm hopeing to find some guides on how to do it i've never done this before so i need to learn is it hard? lol

Price range as of now is like 100-250 or so.. for everything unless it cost more let me know

Processor i7 920

Video card 285 super clocked

No i don't OVER clock my stuff i was going to try it but idk if it's needed all i play is cs

Going to be VERY hard to piece a whole kit together for the cpu/gpu for 250 dollars. I just put together a basic kit for you over at frozencpu.

Water Block

Res

Pump

Triple Rad

GPU Block

For a grand total of 335 dollars. The problem is the GPU block. It's 107 dollars by itself and a total ripoff. I used that exact setup in my I7 rig and my idle's were high 20's at 4.2Ghz. May want to just skip the GPU block and add a Duorb. Any questions please ask

Well i mean i can dish out a bit more.. what else do i need? tubing and what else

Tubing - Can be bought online or from lowe's or home depot

Clamps

You can either use coolant or distilled water. I use distilled water with a touch of coolant but its up to you.

And six 120mm fans of your choice. You'll want a push to pull config so decide if you want high cfm and noise or low cfm and quietness. :D

Lastly. Just remember to order everything with a 1/2" fittings. 1/2" fittings provide the maximum cooling potential. I say that because my dumbass originally went with 1/4" on my first watercooling setup and it BLEW. :)

Read my pm ^_^

Any one else got some setups?

id say skip the gpu. its not worth spending $300+ for absolutely no performance gain. if you water cool your gpu, you most likely void it, and its already overclocked. WC the cpu and OC it for $200ish and be happy with that. you can squeeze a lot more performance out of your 920 with overclocking it, whereas you cant get much more out of your gpu.

it all depends how much money i get at the time if i'll cool the GPU or not :p i'm trying to sell my old gaming rig to come up with the money for this

Okay I disagree almost entirely with the list posted above. First, frozencpu is expensive. Look at petras, jabtech, sidewinder, ppcs.

The gtz is fine, but the hk 3.0 is better. Go with the lt version to save some cash. You don't need that expensive reservoir, go with a tline or a xspc res top for a mcp355 pump and drop that cpx. Any full cover gpu block is fine, but if you want to save some money go with an mcw60 and ramsinks. As for a radiator, if you want maximum performance you might need more than one rad, but if you aren't ocing, go with an mcr320. You really don't need push pull, just slap some yate loons on it. If you want to oc your CPU, I would forget the gpu for now and just go with the CPU.

If you want to cool just the cpu there's a swiftech radiator that if you mount vertically will serve as a reservoir as well. MCR320QP-RES is the model number.

Regarding coolant. If you're doing W/C on the cheap, and don't want to "bling" it, just use good old distilled water and grab some pentosin. I'm doing good with a silver wire grid in my reservoir to prevent algae growth too. Some watercooled setups run on distilled only with some pure silver in them. Do a google on Kill Coil.

If you skip out on a reservoir, you'll need to put the kill coil inside of your tubing.

Hk3, XSPC RX360 Radiator, Swiftech 355 pump with Ek Rev2 Top, EK res, Your choice of GPU blocks, and Primochill LRT Tubing, clamps and some silver killcoils.

If that is too much switch out to a Swiftech MCR320 Radiator and no Res and just do a Tline. Or you could swap out the GPU block as they are usually pretty expensive.
