Hello, I know next to nothing about how SSDs work in conjunction with HDDs. I currently have a 2TB HDD, with all my files on it, and a SDD waiting to be installed. From what I can see, I should put important programs and my OS on the SSD, but how do I make that switch, keep my files, remove the unwanted OS from the HDD, and have the two drives work in conjunction?

Treat the SSD drive as any other hard drive and the rest should make sense! :)

Just to check, is it entirely possible to re-install windows onto the new SSD without any activation problems?

Quick search shows 5 activations per Windows 7 key before you need to call. So you shouldn't have any issues!

What I do is install everything to the SSD, and then move folders like Documents, Music, etc. where there'll be a lot of of data you won't want on the SSD to the HDD (you can actually just right click -> properties on them and specify a new location). I also usually symlink my steamapps folder to one on the HDD, and then in that folder on the HDD, have games that I play most frequently symlinked back to folders on the SSD... since if you have a number installed, you can fill up space on the SSD very quickly. Best of luck!
