New to SFF PCs

Hi all. I built my first and only PC about 3 years ago (with a lot reading on this site :) ) but now I'm in need of something a lot smaller and quieter so naturally I've been looking at SFFs, in particular shuttles. Now, after I built my first computer, I stayed away from hardware sites and keeping current because I wanted to stay happy with what I had, so my knowledge is lacking.

I want to use most of my old components (Intel 2.4C, 512mb corsair xms pc3500, ide hard drives) as they still work great for me. Unfortunately, all the ones I see on the Shuttle website are much newer and I can't find anything that supports my processor.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
 
What socket is your processor, if its S478, Shuttle have one that supports it, look around on newegg.
 
yeah thanks it's 478. I think I found a good one on newegg.

I've never seen one of these in person, but do you think it's strong enough to put a 17" lcd monitor on top of it?
 
Well since you didn't post a link or model I'll make some assumptions. But generally no, I wouldn't put an LCD on top of a Shuttle.
