New to SFF need recommendations

Well I am new to the SFF area of PC's and need some advise. While I cant really afford a complete PC upgrade right now, I would like to convert my Antec Full tower case to a SFF. Currently I am using an Abit Nforce2 board with an AMD XP220 proc, Geforce 4200 graphics card and a dvdrom/burner.

My problem is this, do I go for a barebones shuttle case and then keep my current RAM/CPU graphics card, and by a new DVD-ROM/RW (since they are so cheap now) or should I invest in an Aria case and buy a new MicroATX board to use? In the case of the shuttle route, which shuttle would you recommend? I would like the option of upgrading later on so I would want a shuttle case that would support this. Any suggestions?
 
If you get a Shuttle, you won't be upgrading the mobo. They may be called "small form factor", but it's not actually a standard: Each Shuttle XPC is designed for the mobo that comes with it. You can upgrade everything else, but make sure you're comfortable with the headroom provided by the platform you choose.
 
Yeah sorry, I didnt mean that I was going to upgrade the mobo in the shuttle, I meant that I wanted the option of upgrading the CPU in the shuttle. For example I have an XP2220 now, well I would like the shuttle mobo to support and XP3000 or some newer proc.

If you want to keep youre current CPU/Ram/GFX then you're best bet is the SN45Gv2 (SN45Gv3 is coming out, but lacks Soundstorm) as it's pretty cheap, and would be a great budget box. But this route isnt much of an upgrade from your current ATX system, other than just switching form factors.

If you're going to be using A64's, than you've some options (SN85G4, SK83G, SN95G5), but you'll have to get a new CPU and probably new RAM (you'd be able to move your 4200ti and dvd burner though).
