New to overclocking any advice?

I've begun to dip my feet in overclocking and was wondering what pertinent information I would need to write down before beginning. I currently have a AMD64 3000+ running on a Chaintec VNF4-Ultra Mobo, with a gig dual channel Ballistix PC 4000 Ram. From what I have read, the chaintec isn't the greatest for overclocking, but i'm willing to give it a shot. Any advice on uhhh...where the hell to begin? It's currently running at 2.097mhz 9Xmultiplier and htt is at 233. Could someone tell me what the next steps would be? Thanks and please be gentle...its my first time. Taint

Take it slow.

If you go to fast and your system won't post, you will need to take out the CMOS battery and the PSU cord that hooks into the back of the case to go back to default settings.
