I haven't overclocked anything in years, so I'm considering myself new at this.
I have a Gulfstream i7 970 @3.20 GHz that I am playing with overclocking. Other specs:
~ ASUS Sabertooth X58
~ 6GB Corsair PC3-12800 1600MHz
~ Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
I am basically trying to maximize this things for 24/7 folding. I've bumped up CPU voltage to 1.28V and changd the BCLK from 133 to 166. My multiplier is 25, so this is putting me at 4.0 GHz.
It has been folding for about a hour now, and everything looks good. My temps went from 49 Celcius to mid-50's from stock vs OC.
My question from here, is what is the best way to keep cranking it up? Just keep bumping up the BCLK settings a little at a time? Do I need to play around with the multiplier at all? Anything I should be keeping an eye on with my RAM settings?
