I'll admit it right off. I starting folding for the 2600k contest. I do plan on continuing to fold, even though I doubt I'll even qualify.

I wonder if I have things set up correctly. I'm running a C2D E7200 @ 3.5Ghz and a HD 5770. I'm using the FAH GPU Tracker V2 running SMP and GPU clients. I've enabled the GPU3 client, forcing ATI R700 and have the advmethods switch set for the GPU client and have the advmethods switch set for the SMP client.

I'm finishing a GPU unit in about 8.5 hours and SMP unit in about a day. Do these numbers sound about right? I've also noticed that in Catalyst Control Center, it's showing my GPU is only at around 50% load.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the team!

I will let someone else that knows more about the ATI client answer the setup question.

I know very little about the ATI client, but from what I have gathered, you will have to test your setup to find your own highest points per day.
If you are using GPU tracker, you are also using v.6 of the F@H client which is not optimized for the ATI client. v.7 is more optimized, but it is in beta and is still not perfect (again, from what I have read). It is also not compatible with GPU Tracker.
All GPU (but especially ATI) clients take cycles from the CPU, up to a full core, so up to half in your case.
You might want to check to see if you get more points running GPU only or CPU only rather than both. You might also want try to setting up a passkey to get bonus points after your 10th SMP unit.

Good luck and keep folding!

Running just the V7 client I'm finishing (well, estimated) in under 8 hours, so I'll probably just run that client for a while.

I started up clients on my laptop (2.5Ghz Turon N530) and my PS3. Now I'm looking around the house for any other leftover parts to build more machines. :D

Ordered a 2500K, mobo and ram, so this machine will get turned into a dedicated folding box with Ubuntu.

Welcome to Team 33!

We are the bestest team in the world! Thanks for joining us!

depending on the unit, yes that sounds right time wise for the SMP, the GPU i think so, but am not 100% sure on if the time is correct

Thanks for the heads up on v7.

So set my main box to run the v7 beta. I was running SMP client from GPU Tracker, but changed to just run the uniprocessor. Now I'm getting a TPF of about 2:45 in v7 and still getting about 1kPPD with the uni (which is about what my Turon laptop is getting with SMP).

Once I get my 2500K, the HD5770 goes with it, but my Geforce 9600GT will go back in the C2D.

Speaking of the C2D, I'm sure I can drastically raise the PPD if I were to upgrade to a C2Quad. I don't want to spend a lot on one, but which would be a good choice for > $100? I'm following a couple Q6600 actions on E-bay, but not sure that would be the right one to get.

Q6600 would get you like 5K PPD in windows, probably 7K PPD in linux dedicated to F@H.

This must be some kind of sick disease I have. Running clients on a PS3, main box, laptop, and an Athlon 64 X2 3800 that was sitting in the closet. As soon as I can get time to, I'm going to sneak a client onto the wife's computer (don't tell her I said that).

I might be a threat if I had the money for an SR-2 or 2-socket G34
