so i read the FAQ's and i cant seem to find a couple answers

so, first what is the team ID?
or team number?

and, do i want folding to be set (on my main machine, that i use daily) to only activate when the screen saver is on correct?

i also get free power, i am living in student housing while i go to school, so the comp can run all night

if you game, download the console. Frankly, download the console client anyways as it's much more set and forget it type of deal.

watch out for a guy named transpo here, he's always asking new guys to give the mods here a hard time...

2. Don't use the visual/graphical client. It's buggy, it sucks, it'll crash, just get rid of it. Read the how-to's and setup the console version. It's silent, runs in the background, you'll never notice it, and it won't crash. :)

 
ok so i downloaded the client version

and wow, i fell like i am in the matrix/c mos

how do i set this sucker up to run when i go to screen saver?
also, i have all this crap on my desktop, it ok to move it into a file else where?

console will run 24/7 when the system is on, only the GUI will run in screensaver mode. stick with console and try it 24/7, odds are you will never notice it.

you kinda goofed on the install.

copy the file you downloaded (something console) to c:\folding or where ever. then do start>run> browse to c:\folding\console.exe or what not and add -config flag

c:\folding\fahconsole5.04.exe -config

setup the client, let download a core. You have a black command box, close it. Then either reboot or go to services and start the service.

It can run 24/7 without affecting your computing experience. It runs at an Idle priority level which means if anything requires your computing cycles, F@H will give them up as needed, not slowing anything down.

(correct me if I'm wrong)
 
As an addendum to the steps that Marty has given: http://www.hardfolding.com/index.php?go=3&id=1&show=1 <- This is a step by step guide to configuring the console client. The only thing it doesn't mention is that you need to place the client in the folder you want it to work out of first, otherwise it will put the files wherever the client it located on first run.
