I set up my 2 old linux boxes to fold (p2/celerons), and they seem to be chugging along ok. One question, one of the boxes finished a unit, but never sent it back to the server. My fah.log shows this:

Code:
[16:51:03] Finished Work Unit:
[16:51:03] Leaving Run
[16:51:07] - Writing 1477789 bytes of core data to disk...
[16:51:07] ... Done.
[16:51:21] - Shutting down core
[16:51:21]
[16:51:21] Folding@home Core Shutdown: FINISHED_UNIT

Folding@Home Client Shutdown.

However, it never seems to have sent the work that it finished, and in the work/ directory, I have a wuresults_05.dat, where all the other files are 06. I have tried running FAH with -send 05, but it returns:

Code:
[18:45:52] Loaded queue successfully.
[18:45:52] Attempting to return result(s) to server...
[18:45:52] - Failed to send unit 05 to server

Folding@Home Client Shutdown.

Ideas? Or just forget about it as it is lost?

-send all may let it return. It'll at least show you what happens when it tries to return the WU.

You need to check your log file to find out which server the work unit came from.
Then check http://vspx27.stanford.edu/serverstat.html that the server is up and running.
If its not then Stanford will organize a standby server to collect the results.
But it could be a few hours before this happens.

You wont loose any work untill you get back to loading a new unit 5.
So unless your running very close to the deadline for this work unit or loading a new unit 4, DONT PANIC.
The client will keep trying to upload the work unit every 3 hours.

Luck......... :D

If you are running P2 Cely's you should be doing Timeless Tinkers - otherwise the work will probably be turned in too late:(

Off the top of my head..... I remember reading something at Folding-community.org about a problem with the latest versions of glibc causing problems with fah, seems like people were having the same problem. Could be wrong but it may be something you want to check out... I think people having the problem were using FC3.
