New to ati driver question

This is my first Ati card, its a HD 3870
I was wondering do I just install the drivers from Ati or do they have special ones like nvidia does like xtreme gforce or somthing like that, also do I need just the drivers or the catalyst suite thing, its like a bloated driver pack looks like,
 
Most people download their drivers directly from ATi.

The Catalyst Control Center is basically the driver control panel. If you use something like ATi Tray Tools, it's not necessary, but if you don't plan to use third party software, you really should use the Catalyst Control Center.
 
Modded drivers are a gimmick. They can't edit the actual driver code, so they change things in other files which negatively impact IQ but maybe negligibly.

If there was even an extra 2% to be had, NVIDIA and ATI would find it and get it... and theres no way Joe Shmo in his basement could be more efficient than the people who designed the driver and hardware lol :)
 
I downloaded the drivers from ati. However I never download the entire Catalyst suite. I go to the individual download page and just download the display driver and Catalyst control center. I don't download the the 3rd WDM integrated driver package. Just download what you need.
