oh NO!!!!!!

I believe that i may have killed my NEW tablet pc's hard drive.

After booting into windows xp, i proceeded to turn it off, and then plug it in to the wall a my desk. I kept the cable plugged into the tablet, and when i plugged in the cable to the outlet, a couple of sparks came out, and at the time i was just scared that i killed everything in the tablet.

So i go to reinstall windows on the proceeding boot, using the recovery disks. and now when i boot up the computer, it says

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt. <windows
root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe Please reinstall a copy of the above file"

I repeated everything, SAME PROBLEM.

I then use another XP disk to just see if it will install, and right after it says "windows is starting setup" i get the following error.

"An Error Has Been Encountered That Has Prevented Setup from Continuing".
It says i need to check the disk.

SHIT.

So now im stuck with a brand new viewsonic tablet pc, that wont boot into windows, or reinstall. (It has no built-in optical, was using a USB optical; i have no external floppy)).

Has the hard drive been shocked to death??

man am i pissed.
