Hi,
I have put together a new pc and I'm concerned about the temperatures and noise - can anyone help ? I'm also wondering what the normal idle/load temps for this cpu is ? - difficult to find on the intel site.
specs:
intel 650 3.4 LGA775 2MB cache
asus p5ad2-e motherboard
1GB corsair xms2 pro ddr2-533
xfx geforce 6800gt 256MB pci-e
antec truepower 480W
antec p160 aluminium case
Ok this case has a temp. display, when i switch on the case temp is 28 deg. C
After left on for about 3 mins, the temp. gradually rises by 1 degree every minute.
It has reached 38 C , before i switch off - the pc becomes * very noisey *.
The temp of the cpu in the bios reads a constant 50C and the cpu fan speed increases.
I may also buy a new ATX2 power supply as the one i have is not recommended (ATX1).
The heatsink is the stock intel one that came with the cpu.
I'm really not sure what the problem is, something is producing too much heat and i think it's causing the cpu heatsink to go crazy trying to cool the cpu.
I'm new to building pcs, so any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks,
James
