Depending on what ATi 9800 Pro you're looking at, there are cheaper ones. The Sapphire 9800 Pro is $210 or so.

I'm sure djnes will chime in on OCZ's spotty record and shit customer service and practices.

And I don't see the merit of RAID 0 raptors, but that's just me.

I am convinced that anyone dumb enough to still consider supporting a company like OCZ is behind help anyway.

Also, Raptors in RAID0 is a very nice addition. One single Raptor is not worth the cost and loss of capacity. 2 in RAID0 however, is very nice: See sig.

the OCZ was a recommendation by somebody else, ive never heard of them, im thinking more towards crucial or kingston

1. If you're going to OC, why get a 3.0 when you can get a 2.4 and OC the hell out of it?

2. You need to get a better PSU that what is including w/ Aspire cases. $50 will go far with Fortron, Sparkle, Enlight, TTGI, or Superflower PSU.

How abou this Corsair, its got high lat. but when you get into higher amounts ram this is typical and since im dealing with intel i dont see this as a problem, what do you think (shit this stuff is expensive)

The 36 gigers have firmware that is optimized for enterprise environments. You can go two Seagates, two WD or Two Hittachi SATA 80 gigers all for under 90 each and for the purposes of desktop use they all will match or surpase the 36 gig raptors for real world performance in a raid 0 array. The 74 gigers are a different story.They are also optimized for the desktop and are unrivaled in a raid 0 array as it relates to desk top use as well as price performance ratio when pitted against even SCSSI arays

Why even bother with a 2.4c when for the same price or almost the same price you could get a 2.8c or 2.6c.

$200 is alot for a motherboard, newegg sells MAXIII for less than fry's try there.

As for the Raptors, they're pretty much a waste for desktop use. I've owned two in a RAID 0 and they weren't much faster if any faster than my normal 120gb hard drive. Unless you're going to be running a server or doing some major video editing, they just aren't worth the cost.

For that system I'd suggest getting one of the Sapphire 9800 pro 256mb cards since they're just 9800 XTs with a pro bios and they perform well even stock (they've got the shiny HSF).

Also go with Corsair, Kingston or Mushkin RAM. Crucial is awesome ram, but not good for overclocking.
