I am looking to buy a new system right now and I have two questions for anyone:

1) If they were to buy the best AMD processor, what would you buy and why?
2) If you were to buy the best Intel processor, what would you buy and why?

The only thing I am not interested in are the dual core chips.

Here is what I am thinking of:
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA4000BNBOX
OCZ Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model OCZ4002048PFDC-K

Anyone have any suggestions or comments?
 
for #1 the best proc thats non dual core would be the fx57 buts its extremely expensive and personally id never buy it, the +4000 u have on ur list or a +3700 is probably a better deal

y not dual core tho? jus curious
