Hello!
I'm in a big dilemma what to choose to get a solid gaming and overclocking performance.
I've thought about this configuration:
ASUS P5B Deluxe
Intel Core2Duo E6400
OCZ DDR2 PC2-800 XTC rev.2 1GB
eVGA 7600GT
Sharkoon 600W PSU / OCZ GameXStream 600W PSU
Sharkoon REBEL9 Value Case

Any suggestions?

P.S.
Any difference in overclocking between Intel 965 Chipset and 975X?

Thanks!

For solid gaming performance, you need better than a 7600GT.

If you need to save money, you can bump the motherboard to
- Asus P5B-E
- Gigabyte S3 or DS3
Or just bump the CPU to an e6300
Either way your o/c will be fine.

The general overclocking difference between the 975 and 965 is that the 965 reaches higher FSB. Go P965 with your CPU choice.

The higher multiplier of the E6600 helps with OC'ing, so boards that can't reach a high FSB are a nice matchup (eg 680i or 975x boards). Moosey gives good advice... stick to the P965 Express if you're going with an E6400.

Ask in the PSU subforum for better PSU suggestions. I wouldn't get either of those, since there are, I believe, better options for around the same price.

Whats your budget? 2GB would help. Is the 7600GT a stopgap?

I've got at about 500-600 euros.I think I'll be able to get them all with this cash.
Some guys told me that Crucial Ballistix performs extremely well on this board. So is my OCZ a wrong choice?
What about 7900GS?

7900 GS is a stronger choice than a 7600 GT. But you might want to think about an 8800 GTS 320Mb... this is the best price/performance card at the moment and its not much more money than a 7900 GS.

huh? they're similarly priced in europe? because in the us, the 7900GS is around $150, while the 8800GTS 320MB is $300. Double the price = MUCH MORE money. The x1950Pro would be a better buy over the 7900GS.

Prices are a bit higher than in U.S.
I'll get 8800GTS if I find a reasonable price for it.Otherwise 7900GS does it's job pretty good I think.
Any suggestion on memory modules?

buffalo firestix or patriot LLK extreme performance sticks.

Buffalo and Patriot sticks are currently out of stock.Only OCZ and Crucial left.
Which one to choose?

the ocz powersupply flucuates in power look at the 520 cosairs thats a good one from what ive read

My system is in my sig as you can see. I have been pretty happy with it overall actually. I think my 667 memory is slowing me down now. I just recently got an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro for my processor and temps are no longer a problem at all...sometimes the fan actually stops turning at idle and my motehrboard starts beeping at me. However, I fold for the Horde, so my machine is hardly ever idle at all.

Ok! Thank you for your replies.
Crucial must be the right choice.I've seen some great reviews of it.
Buffalo beats almost every memory module but unfortunately it's out of stock
