Im looking to put together a new rig this summer. I have a fairly decent computer knowledge as I have built quite a few in the past. The new technology and other things (power supplies -12v rails?-, overclocking, watercooling, etc.) are some things that are still greek to me, but I have been searching, reading and browsing to SOME avail.

I am not a hardcore gamer, I do enjoy some FPS (doom 3, far cry, CS:S) and games like Madden, TW, Splinter Cell, etc. My system is primarily used to do web/graphic design and everything else that that would entail. I do want something that will perform with ease and handle large files, breeze through loads, etc....but I wouldnt mind something that can still crank out the frames in my games when i DO decide to play. Expandability is key, I wanted to build something that wont be outdated in a few years and will (as my curiosity grows) be overclockable OR watercool-able.

I'm planning on getting all the parts from the Egg, ZZF, FrozenCPU, and Performance PCS.
(or eBay if I should find them cheaper)

Overall, I'm looking for the best performance, and while I want to spend some good cash. I on GOOD parts, I dont want to break my bank either. Any help in deciding on my parts, or substituting for different parts would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Intel Pentium® 4 630 Processor Prescott 3.0GHz, 800MHz FSB, Socket 775, 2MB Cache

Enermax 535W Whisper II FMA Series ATX 12V Ver.2.01 (EG565P-VE FMA) SLI Ready
It's to my understanding that a PSU has to be 12v 2.0 compliant to support SLI right? This and the case are the BIGGEST DECISIONS I cant seem to make. To SLI or NOT? It would probably be at LEAST 100.00 cheaper now to NOT go SLI-READY and get the Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo Pro motherboard I was originally planning on. But then I would have to get a good Sound Card, since I planning on using the N4P's onboard Creative 7.1 sound feature. NEVER HAS 1 THING GIVEN ME SUCH TROUBLE!!! If I decide NOT to (HELP ME OUT HERE) I was going to get the Coolermaster RS-450-ACLY 450W Power supply

MSI P4N Diamond Intel SLI ready Motherboard
I have no idea when this is coming out, but it sounds sweet, should I want to upgrade to SLI and stick with INTEL

Corsair TWIN2X1024-5400C4 1GB DDR2-667 XMS2-5400 Xtreme Performance Memory w/Black Heat Spreader Retail
I've always bought corsair, should I stick with it, or a different brand? Is this easily overclockable?

MSI NX6600GT-TD128E GeForce 6600 GT PCI Express 128MB DDR3 Video Card w/HDTV-Out & DVI
I've read some real good reviews on this card, and can't see spending 2x as much for a 6800 if I plan on MAYBE going SLI

Thermaltake CL-P0092 Silent 775 CPU Cooler

Western Digital Caviar SE 200GB Serial ATA 7200RPM Hard Drive w/8MB Buffer
I will already have 2 IDE Hard drives (120, 80) ready to install as well

Lian-Li PC-61 USB Black aluminum Mid Tower
I've done so much research into this and cant decide which model to get.
60-BPlus
61 USB

I was goin to get the 61 USB (w/o window) and get a replacement panel with acrylic window and 80mm drilled blowhole from Performace PCS.com which would be about 165.00. The 60BPlus is 20.00 more but has 2x 120mm and 2x 80mm fans as opposed to 61 USB's 4x 80mm *which gets into my watercooling dilemma later*

Everything else is decided on.

Logitech Z 5300e 5.1 280w speakers
Logitech Cordless MX3100 duo
Arctic 5 thermal compound
NEC ND-3520A Dual Layer burner
LG 16x dvd-rom
Zalman MFC-1 6 channel controller ( to control the 4 replacement Blue LED fans (thermaltake A2018 and COOLER MASTER TLF-R82 and 2 cold cathodes)

*the 120mm rear fan I read is kind of a necessity (unless i want to start drilling and cutting my case) for the SilverTech H20-120 water cooling kit (which I have read is the best) but I'm still trying to decide if i should be a water cooler person too. Other than the geek factor and being able to say that I am 'water cooled' I dont know if I fully know the benefit I can get from being W/C'ed or not.

I'd love to be able to overclock my new rig and although I doubt I will never be as extreme as some of you are on here at it ( I still have no clue about voltages and the true meanings of all these 2-2-2-4's I'm seeing!) I would like to eventually start to tinker around a little down the road.

I'm looking at 1700'ish right now for EVERYTHING (- watercooling). I'm relying on some suggestions if I should consider any part changes, different models, etc. (especially the Case and PSU, and if you think SLI is really necessary.

THANKS FOR THE HELP

I EXTREMELY appreciate it! :D

Sweet system. I have the 630 processor and it does 3.6ghz on 1.25vcore, on 1.5vcore it does 4ghz! (and so does every elses) You'll have a very nice setup...

The PSU is great, enermax makes some of the best.

BTW: brace for AMD breakfast club attack.
