Today I just built an
AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 Socket 939
Abit AV8 KT800 PRO MOBO
WD 74 gig SATA 10,000 RPM Raptor
2x512Corsair XMS Series PC 3200 Pro with heat spreader set at 2-2-2-5
Geforce GT 6800
On 3d Mark with 4x AF no aa default resolution at 1024 x 768 I recieved
11,333 score. I thought wow that is 4k more than my previous system
Then I search and compare and people who has less than me get a better score? how... does O'Cing help that much?
On PC mark trial version, I recieved a score 4985, and I have seen scores of 7k + on a P4 o'ced to 3.8ish non EE version I believe it was north or prescott forgot.
Did I build my pc wrong or is it because I need to learn how to OC my comp? Any special bios tricks? If I have to OC then I will need to buy more fans and a new heatsink/fan as well...=T
Also I usually never use factory made heatsink and fans and I put thermal compound on it, did not know they already had a thin layer on it...is this very bad? If it is, is there a way to clean it off?
Thank You
