Hey guys,

I saw this on the front page of [H]ard, you guys might want to check it out.
It looks like the new swiftech kits come with their new pump. I wonder if that will hurt the performance considering the pump is much weaker than their older one. I was thinking of buying a swiftech kit, but I'm not too sure about this new pump??

What are your guys feelings?

I think the new pump is a perfect match for the Swiftech kit. It sould give as good or better temps (slightly less flow but much less pump heat) while being much quieter and smaller. With Swiftech always using 3/8 id tubing and this pump comes with 3.8 barbs no adapters are needed for it either. It will also do better as the loop restriction increases such as adding more blocks.

That little pump will more than likely give you just as much flow in a installed system as their larger pump due to the increased head (15ft vers 10 ft). Pump flow is only relitive to a open system with no restriction. You need the head heigth to over come this problem. From what I've heard, these should be a killer little system. They may not be strong enough for a system with a huge radiator though, but I'm waiting to test one on my custom external, hopefully I'll get a pump soon, so we'll see what happens.

I guess they wouldnt have made the change unless it was an improvement. I'm still going to wait to see some reviews. It would be nice of the cooling remained equal, because that new pump is nice and small and would help considering my case is not so big.

I'm planning on pairing the H-120 kit with a radbox (I dont think I want to cut up my case) and probably a gpu block.

Do you guys think that the 120 rad is big enough to handle it?

Thx

looks like a neat pump but you know it cost them all of $15-$20 bucks. what swiftech charges is pure anal rapeage for that little pump

$15-20 you say...! Well where can I get it for that much :D

Obviously they are going to charge more than it costs, but I wonder if they purchase the pump from some other provider that also sells the pump to the public. Might be cheaper to buy it that way.

Where did you get your info about the pump costing only $20 to make???

Swiftech is the sole North American distributor for Laing pumps. But you can find them $5 cheaper elsewhere and if you wait till others get the kits from Swiftech some places will sell them cheaper also, or so the trend has been that in the past.

danger den now has that pump, and for 5 dollars less than swiftech, just like you said dzitzner

Yeah I got the 120 kit and like it. Good move with getting the radbox, really makes radiator installation simple.

If any of you live outside of North America you can try getting the pump through Laing themselves, if you live in Germany or the EU they should be alot cheaper to get.

Laing Delphi Pumps

Wow, that looks like a great pump for those who want multi-loop setups. That's small enough to fit two of them in a 5-1/4 bayarea with some work.

I think I found a replacment for my eheim 1250....as much as I love that pump, it's so freaking huge that it gets in the way more often than not.

that was a guestimate on my part. I understand about profit, i'm a diehard capitalist myself, but i think that swiftech gets those pumps MUCH cheaper then what a reasonable profit covers.....it would not shock me in the least if swiftech was getting them for LESS then $20, and charging what they think they can get away with.....that is, of course, MOHO , i could be wrong...
