Hi guys,
Looking to get a new subwoofer in the next month to replace my Gale Storm, there are 2 main reasons for the replacement.

1. Current subwoofer doesn't have auto signal detect power on/off... which is a PITA!
2. I like to have quick & easy access to the controls as i switch between 2 settings for gaming and music but i don't want it firing into the cramped corner of the small room.

So i'm looking for a sub that's got auto-detect power (nearly ever sub these days), rumbles down very low but with enough power to actually provide the rumble and preferably down firing so i can have the control panel facing out to me.

My budget is £200 (sorry, i'm a great brit git :) )

I've found the Wharfdale Vardus VR SUB 8 at superfi for £125 but i'm not entirely sure what it's like and i have £75 more to spend on a sub...Reviews say they're damn good for the price but you may as well go for the the SW150 instead (which is front firing) because it's got loads of awards and is pretty much the best sub we can get for under £200.

Edit: Also the SW100 is only £100... What do you think?

Velodyne digital sub with remote control would be ideal but over your budget.
