I have been waiting quite a while for drivers for Windows 8.1 for my Sound Blaster Titanium card.

They finally released a new set. The download is dated 3/7/2014.

Downloading now. Hopefully they fix the "have to change mode" bug every time you boot in order to get sound in 8.1.

Yep, it is fixed! :D

LOL hope they didn't do what they did with the all the rest of the new updates....change the release date and call it a new driver lol.... hope you have better luck than us sound blaster Z owners;)

Ehhhyeahhh, I'll give it a few days and see what turns up on the Creative Labs forums. Someone will probably do a hash comparison and find that just an INI or INF file was changed.

Pretty sure they didn't just change an inf or an ini.

A lot of the actual files are dated 2-28-2014.

Edit: Definitely some new stuff in there.

A new creative launcher, and some of the file sizes for some of the other files are different as well when comparing to the previous driver 2_17_0008C

So yeah, a hash is going to show that some files are the same, but it would also show that some of the files are definitely different.

The Titanium HD driver they released recently was very good; I can't imagine the driver for the normal titanium is any worse.

Word. I'll go ahead and install them this afternoon. Then, I'll do my obligatory OpenAL 64bit OS BSOD test.

From what I have read in the creative forums, the new driver was basically rewritten from the ground up. Hence, the new performance. My Mantle rig (specs below) has my old Titanium HD in it, and the card sounds just as good as my ZXR. I was very happy with this driver. EVERYTHING has returned and works under windows 8.1, including headphone switching.
