Quick Review:
Pros: I just bought the new 750w offering, the ST75F "Stridar". It has a larger 120mm fan, it is modular, it has 2 more PCI-E connectors, 2 more SATA connectors, and 2 more standard connectors (the manufacturer's website mis-reports these, but newegg had it correct). It has native aux 4 - 6 - 8 pin modular connectors that do not require the use of an adapter like the previous model. I am no expert on the internals of a PSU, however the massive heatsinks covering every inch of the interior of the PSU appear clearly visible through the case's perferations. Better yet, on newegg it was cheaper -- seemed like a no brainer.

I've been running this for a week and I have no serious complaints; I really like this thing. My previous 550watt PSU handled my OC'd core2duo and 8800gtx just fine, so this model should handle SLI and then some. It doesn't have as pretty a paint job as some of the Enermax's I've purchased, but the semi-gloss black "works". I particularly like the black power connectors on the end of every cable. It has 24pin main and an 8pin aux, just what my evga 680i wants. However, the newer 24pin connector is not a 20pin+4pin, so it most likely will not work in the older 20pin mainboards.

Cons: If I had to pick on anything, it would be that this "modular" PSU has all of the SATA connectors on one modular connector to the Unit. So if you want to hook up a single SATA device -- you need to plug in all 6... However, this seems to be a trend with many other modular PSU's as well. Also regarding the SATA modular cable, it is not fully cable wrapped like all of the other connectors on the unit.

Overall: Good brand, good wattage, active PFC, Quad 12v rails, lots and lots of connectors, bells, and whistles.

I would highly recommend this PSU.

According to the Silverstone website, the ST75ZF is the Zeus and the ST75F is the Strider series 750w power supply.

And per the 8800GTX SLI approved power supply list, the Zeus version is approved and capable of handling an SLI 8800GTX.

My only question is are the actual specifications the same between the two units, on the Silverstone site the specs. appear slightly different between units, but I would think the guts are basically the same and the real only difference is one is modular and the other is not. However, I'm still a noob, and all this is rather new to me.

I'd prefer to get the modular version, but is the Strider performance on the same level as the Zeus? I haven't been able to find anything on it yet.

yes, I've been wondering the same thing. Are the the same power supply except that one is modular?

Well, in answer to my own question (and yours), I asked the peeps at Johnny Guru (basically PSU focused site), and the answer is NO they are not the same.

Strider line are really Enhance made PSUs while Zeus are Etasis made PSUs. (I guess that is another reason why only Etasis/Zeus are the only two 750w PSUs certified for 8800GTX SLI?)

Zeus seems to be better build quality and performance overall from the opinions I've seen. I have not been able to find much else on Enchance PSU performance though.

I'd really like to get a modular PSU that is going to last me a while.

They are NOT the same. The ZF is the Zeus; It's made by Etasis. the F is Enhance. Significant interior differences (have a look on Jonny's reviews)..

Either way, they're both solid choices. You can't go wrong.

Thanks, I pulled the trigger on the Strider 750w because I wanted a modular PSU, and seems to be getting decent reviews (not as good as Zeus), but it is on sale now for around $137 so from a price standpoint seems like a good deal for what you get.

The Strider 750w is more than capable of handling SLI so don't worry too much about that list. I'm using one as we speak

where did you find it for 137

www.deadeyedata.com -- Just ordered mine from there. They ship factory direct from Silverstone, and they seem to be getting positive feedback for a new e-tailer :)

Jeebus, thats a holy good price; I paid about 180 from the egg if I remember correctly.

EDIT - Duh, I linked it above... I'm crawling back in my hole.

Got one and I like it. It replaces an Antec TP-II 550 that I didn't really trust anymore (got that one from Antec after RMA). I think it's a good bang for the buck. What I don't like is it doesn't have angular SATA power connectors.
