Yeah... it's an 875 Chipset w/ LGA775.

Where is my G5 case with a 865PE/875P chipset and Socket 478? I want mine, now!
 
Can you imagine the heat? I had to watercool my 3.4 GHz prescott. It just ran too hot on the stock HSF, and that was in a regular atx tower.

You could probally warm up a burger on the top of that thing, lol. But look on the bright side, you wouldn't have to get up to goto the microwave to warm it up.
 
Okay to be honest, shuttle probably wouldn't have put this out if it wasn't stable... the later iterations of the ICE heatpipe design are pretty good for what I hear.. anyone have any real experience with this?
 
I'm running one of the newer SB83G5's (LGA775, i915G+ICH6R), and I am happy with it so far. I do not regret the decision.

I have a Prescott 3.0GHz that runs 42C-45C at idle depending on ambient temp's, and when under load it runs between 45C-55C. Hot, but manageable.

When I bought it, I was torn between this and the SN95G5. I decided that features (such as PCIe graphics, PCIe GB LAN, SATA RAID and NCQ, were more important to me than the performance defecit compared to Athlon64's. And 3.0GHz, after all, really ought to be enough for playability.

The Realtek Audio works fine for me (all I need from audio is no pop-skip-and-hiss), and I am impressed with the G5 case with the stealthed drive bays.

I am using the onboard Intel graphics for now, until I can justify spending the money for a GF6600GT PCIe. To be honest, I'm surprised that the onboard graphics displays as well as it does on my LCD at 1280x1024 - basic non-gaming uses (including DVD's) it does a pretty darn good job and does not crash - which is all I ask for from onboard video.
