I just put together my new system my ambient is around 78F (south florida) and my idle cpu is 40c according to coretemp, after running orthos small ffts it gets to about 50c and stays (5 minutes running). My system is still bleeding, I don't think it would make that dramatic of a difference though.

Maybe I have my expectations too high with 78F but I thought it would be much cooler :(

System:
CPU: e4300 @ stock
Motherboard: Gigabyte DS3 rev3.3 f11 bios
GPU: BFG 8800GTS OC WC
Artic Silver 5

Watercooling components:
D-tek Fuzion
Thermalchill 120.3 w/ 3 yate loons pulling
T - Line
DDC w/ petra's top

Here's a diagram of my loop,

the radiator is mounted on the front of the CM Stacker pulling air in, rad -> cpu -> gpu -> t line -> pump -> radiator.

I thought I had the cpu block mounted wrong...the directions say it should be upright with the outlet at the top of the block. I tried mounting it 2 ways in my case with the outlet at the top.

First Way
Second Way

I'm not sure which is correct but my temperatures stayed the same both ways! :(

Here's some pictures of my loop:

please excuse the wire mess. I tried to make the bends as best as possible, it's a little difficult.

Sorry for the long post, I'm still new at this and I'm confused, the only thing I didn't have time to do was reapply my thermal paste (artic silver 5).

EDIT: here's a picture of my cpu after taking off the cpu block, thermal paste should be this way?

It's difficult to see the CPU and thermal paste because you didn't use a flash. But to me it looks to be of different colours. What paste did you use, and did you clean the cpu and waterblock before you put them together?

Also. For watercooling there's two reasons for high temps. The loop can't dispose of heat, or it can't get the heat from the components fast enough.

Can't tell which one it is for your loop. What to do is feel the side of the reservoir. Is it warm to touch?

kind of off topic, but you really shouldn't be running your loop without any clamps. even if you just use zip ties. You could spring a leak at any moment.

since then I've put zip ties on them anyway, it's 7/16 and they fit very very tight.

I'm still bleeding my system, I see small air bubbles throughout the tubes. I'm also reapplying my thermal paste hopefully this helps ;(

your D-tek is mounted wrong, I thought it was supposed to be mounted so "d-tek" appears upright. Am I right?
EDIT: oh I see you tried that already, how's the ambient temp in the room, hot?
