Woohoo, some heat coming :)

Seriously, it's a very nice computer ;)

Put it at my house. Free electricity for you.

[Fold under my name, of course.]

Looks awsome!!! Except, the pics arent loaded yet its taking forever, I guess people are slamming this thread to show off your new toy. :p Might wanna get a faster host.. Nevermind, as soon as I posted this it all loaded right away.

I'm guessing around $3000 before any rebates or deals, depending on storage configuration. I just configured one with two 5335s and it was about $2800. I don't think I could build one for that, but of course the Dell wouldn't be water cooled either.

under 100% cpu's are all under 40c , unless you plan on oc'n the box, w/c is not need imho. The complete order detail is below. I never thought I would buy a Dell box, but I am VERY pleased with the build quality of this server.

Oh, you got a lot of extra stuff. I've been looking into building or possibly buying a 2S machine for doing photo work. I was looking at the Dell Power Edge 1900s but the lack of a x16 PCIe slot, or even a x8 in a x16 formfactor, is really making me think twice.

I'm not going to be gaming or anything, I'll be running Ubuntu x64 with WinXP Pro on a virtual machine. Still, I want a little 3D horsepower for Beryl and such. Something like a 7900GS would be perfect. I think I could tape up the extra connections, dremel the back of the x8 slot in the Dell, then install such a card. That sounds a little drastic to me, especially on a $3k (for me) piece of kit.

Look into the Precision 690 from Dell. It's a pro workstation with all the same specs as their servers but designed for a desktop operating system and has the slots you will want. You can snag them on Dell Outlet for some pretty amazing prices every once in awhile - you just have to be patient, check often, and be ready to jump when one pops up with the right specs at a killer price.
