OK guys....here it goes.

Got a new server build (dual xeon 2.8 with 2 gb of ecc registered corsair and a 4WD 120 GB sata drives in a raid5 using an adaptec sata raid5 card).

Beautiful system. And I have finally finished with the build/verify (took 5 hours to build verify the thing).

However now I want to beat the hell out of it for about 48 before delivery. Is there a software suite that will beat this thing into te ground to make sure it is working well? I know you guys use Prime95 and all...is that really good? I have never used it before.

I want to use something that will test both the processors and the harddrives as well we the memory....three seperate tests? Or is there a single one which will bang the hell out of all three?

Thanks as alway gentlemen.

Just make sure you run Prime95 and Memtest86 through for at least 24 hours. Memtest86 should come back error free. If it lasts through those two then its pretty damn stable. Anything else you throw in there is just a plus.

run prime, sisandra, pcmark, seti, and folding at the same time, and maybe throw in a good hard drive test program (i don't know any off the top of my head)

If it can survive that for 24 (or 48) hours then you should be in good shape.

So i can run more than 1 test at a time?

sweet...i thought i was only going to be able to run one at a time...good deal...e right back then im gonna start running everything

fun times for all

:)

ill take some screen shots :)

hdd test: hdd tach

on this server i would run sisoft sandra's burn in test... i've seen it destroy hardware when they are week but it'll tell you for dang sure whats up inside the case.
