Hello,

I was kinda intrested in any recommendations for a router+firewall.
I think firewall would be sophos UTM home edition because i have experience with those.
But my connection is 100/100 and the router need to have vlan support + PPPoE support.
I might upgrade during the year to 500/500 so it kinda needs to be ready for that.
What i think :
Edgerouter POE ( because lite only has 3 ports and i need to have 1 box at that place )
linksys wrt1900ac ( not sure about this yet )

Let me know if you have any other ideas thanks!!!

Why a router containing a switch rather than a router plus a gigabit switch that supports VLANs?

That's also a good idea, i kinda need wifi too since the edrlite doesn't has a wifi module built in, i would need anyway to get a switch for it.
What cheap switch would anyone recommend i have a netgear gs105 laying around.
might aswell use that.

All in one devices are never "great". You usually get a router with a junky switch built-in.

Do you ABSOLUTELY need one device?

EdgeRouter Lite plus a gigabit switch has my vote. It's what I am using for my 1Gbps fiber connection and I am using an ASUS RT-AC66U wireless access point for my wireless devices. My gigabit switch is a TL-SG108 8 port switch.

Not really, I was gonna use a switch anyway because i need to split my IPTV and wifi module + the computers that are going to be connected.
Just looking at a nice wifi module ( access point )

Anyone have any experience with "EnGenius ECB350" or any equivalent of these APs or woudl it be better to use Draytek vigor ones?

So 2 days ago the Edgerouter lite came with the post, now it's all running smoothly on my 100/100mbit connection seems like this is a great router even for starters ( i'm a network beginner ) but i read up on the official website and everything was there what i needed.
