Just got done reading over at the guru3d forums.... Unwinder, creator of RivaTuner, states that the public release of the latest version of RivaTuner will take place next Friday. This should be of particular interest to anyone who owns a 'latest gen' board (especially 6800 vanilla and LE owners)....

yeah, some pipes are disabled if they fail, i.e. not work properly
so they get disabled and are able to be sold as lesser video cards
for example say one of the vertex engines fails on a 6800GT or Ultra they can disable one, so 5 vertex engines working, then just disable 4 pipelines and make it a 6800 non ultra
so if someone tries to re-enable that one broken vertex engine, it could cause problems
