No, but live in an area that can get to 120 degrees so cooling is important to me.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?

Be good to your hands and get a good keyboard like the G710+ ($100) and G700 ($70). Or go for looks and upgrade the case to something more expensive.
Check local electronic stores like Fry's but don't listen to them and look for any sale items. Biggest reminder: Your computer will be outdated in six months. There's nothing you can do about it but buy more parts, it's all about getting the best bang for buck and reliability, which is what I've put together here.

Key differences between Joseph F's build and my build:
1) I don't see a good reason for that Core i5 3570K. You have no plans to overclock nor is the increase clock speed or faster onboard video justify the extra costs for it. As such, the regular Core i5-3470 should be more than enough. As for the motherboard, again, you're not overclocking nor have you mentioned a desire for SLI or Crossfire. So I don't see a good reason for an overpriced and overkill motherboard.

2) That G.Skill RAM is overpriced, not needed, and is not from Amazon.com proper. The Corsair RAM I recommended are better bang for the buck and are from Amazon.com proper.

3) Considering that your area gets up to 120 degrees, I went with the Gigabyte GTX 670 since it has better cooling than that eVGA card.

4) Went with a higher quality, faster, and slightly larger SSD. If you still want to burn money, go for the 256GB version of the SSD I recommended.

5) You don't have really high power needs so that Seasonic should do the job just fine. It's also of higher quality than that Corsair.

6) Honestly the OS is just a placeholder. Go with Windows 8 if you want

7) The Coolermaster Hyper 212 is a great HSF. But I err on the side of caution and therefore went with the Thermalright TRUE Spirit 140.

8) It is missing a case. However I recommend any of these cases over the relatively cramped Antec 300:
