So I think my current rig (3.5 years old, Athlon X2 4400, 2GB ram, 74gb Raptor boot drive, 500 GB storage drive, GeForce 7900GTX) may have bitten the bullet so I'm looking at building a new rig. There are many of you out there that know wayyyy more than I do so I'm looking for your input.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
I'll do a little gaming (Flight Simulator X, C&C Red Alert 3, Sim City 4), web browsing, some GIMP photo editing.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
I don't wanna spend more than 2k after all is said and done

3) Where do you live?
I live in the grand state of New Jersey

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
I need everything. I don't plan on re-using anything from my old rig.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
See #4

6) Will you be overclocking?
I'm looking at lightly overclocking an i7 920. I'd like to get 3GHZ out of it

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I have a POS 17" Acer monitor.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
I'd like to build it within the next 2 months.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
I'd like RAID support. Not really worried about Crossfire or SLI

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
I'd need a full version of Windows 7

Thanks to all of you in advance!

I don't necessarily need a monitor in the budget.

I just want a case that's easy to get into. I'd like something that's sturdy and isn't gonna fall apart on me. I have an Antec P190 now and I can't stand it. The sides are cheap plastic. It's a pain to open and close the case because the sides like to jump off the track. Over time, the sides got warped and they won't even stay shut anymore so they're half hanging off.

Pretty good price, if you want to get a larger ssd then nab up an 80gb or 160gb.

Shiro's build is good, as always. What's wrong with an OEM version of Windows? If you've got cash to spare, I agree with AthlonXP in getting a larger Intel SSD, X25-M 80GB. ;)
