OK. So right now my new rig is install windows and will soon have Oblivion. I don't have a camera for pictures yet but I will post soon. Although I must say - trying to take out a mobo tray with SLI cards in a watercooling loop that is full sucks!

Here are the specs:

PSU: 1kw pc p&c
MOBO: Asus A8n-sli deluxe
CPU: FX-60
Ram: COrsair 3500ll-pro 4gb
Video: SLI 7800 gtx 256 oc'd
HD: 74 raptor, 36 raptor.

FOr some reason I cannot get my mobo to use the 36 raptor (my old OS hd) to boot so I'm installing windows to 74. Not a huge problem. I'll just fix it later... most likly the jumpers on on master and slave...

The video cards are on a custom watercooling loop and Chilly1 is making a single-stage minicascade for the processor. Although I fear moutning the cascade is going to be a bear of a task since the mobo tray seems to be bent and it wont bolt down right... BAH! Oh well, once it arrives I will switch out the stock HSF and post some mad clocks! ANyways I'm really excited so I will end here and post agian off my new computer when it is ready. Thanks to everyone for their help! :D
 
No digital camera to take pics atm. :( And I am having a problem with install windows. It keeps hanging in the installing files portion. Stupid SATA. Anyone know how to fix this problem on the a8n32-sli deluxe mobo? I got a 36gb raptor and a 76; I want to put the OS on the 36.
 
To be honest, the 74gb raptors are faster than the 36gb versions IIRC. Installing windows to your 74gb drive makes perfect sense from a sheer speed standpoint. If you are deadset on still using your 36gb raptor, you might want to consider using it as a dedicated drive just for your windows swap file. The high spindle speed would allow for better random access, and also take a large chunk of write operations from your main system drive.

IT is just for the os. Problem is I can't get windows to install! IT keeps hanging when it begins to copy files. Do I need to setup any raid controllers with this mobo?
 
try hooking ur main drive that ur using up to the silicon 3112 controller and see what happens
you should have to setup any drivers unless your running a raid setup
 
Try a different CD drive.

And I'm with whoever suggested using the 74GB drive for the OS. Put a 10 or so gig partition on it if you want a "separate drive" for the OS, and then use the smaller raptor for swap space.
 
I am writing this from my new PC!!! Turns out the Raptor drives were shot. I'm RMAing them and went and got a 150gb Cavalier to use for now! WOO!
 
You certain that you'd put in the raid driver and IDE controller driver when specifying additional drivers for an array (If you were running a stripe)?
 
Well at first I hadn't... But by the time I did I had jacked both drives up. The hang during reformats on each and I restarted during. Ran HD tests and both showed up with un-repairable errors.

Anyway Oblivion looks amazing and 3dmark06 scores coming soon. I'll run the test with the stock HSF then again with my phase-change
 
Finally did 3dmark06. 0 overclocking right now and I get a score of 7897. Once I get the phase-change system setup I will try my best to overclock although I know nothing about OCing... Hopefully this system will break 9k someday :)

sounds like a very [H]ard system you got, you have both video cards and cpu watercooled? i would love to see pictures
