Hey everyone..

I'm having a bit of a problem with my new rig getting spontanmous reboots and program errors in xp.

I ran memtest86 for 5 full passes.. I ended up with 2 errors in both in test 7 during pass 0 and 4.. in different memory addresses..

I'm wondering if this is definative proof there is something wrong with the ram. I was wondering what other diagnostics i should use to try and nail this problem down with.

Setup

muskin DDR2 667 (PC5300) 2x512mb matched pair
Intel P4 3 Ghz Prescott
Asus P5LDi2
Asus Radeon X1600
Segate 30gb IDE - master
Liteon 24x CDRW - slave
Antec 400w Smartpower 2

Temps are within spec and I'm not doing any overclocking...

Thanks!

Update ... I tried running Prime95 I get this type of error whenever I try any of the three Torture Tests

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 4.92(etc) expected less than 0.4
Hardware Failure detected.

This happens at 1 second into each of the tests.

SuperPI ... I can't seem to get anything past 512k to go...

So what should I do here?

if prime fails that fast, but memtest doesn't get a crapload of errors, i wouldn't be so quick to blame the sticks themselves. you put the ram in the correct slots? have you tried one at a time? or different ram?

Ah ... alright... So I have them in slot A1 and A2 ... After rereading the manual it says for dual channel mode A1 + A2 must equal B1 + B2 ... So I guess that means I need one stick in A1 and one stick in B1? I'm not sure I have this right...

Alright.. so after changing the ram configuration it's now working in dual channel mode and after a fresh format and reinstall of windows seems to be working just fine in Prime95 and SuperPI

Thanks alot for the help!
