I really want to ditch my 36GB raptors in raid for a single 74 but I've heard people speak of WD releasing a new raptor drive this year so I am unsure of the purchase. Is there anything other than speculation on this? If not I may just get the 74...

its hard to tell, unlikes the video card segment, harddriver makes do not tell people what they have in store for the future, or when is anything coming out. usually they announce a product, and releases it in a matter of week(s)

Their will be a new Raptor for sure. Just no one knows when. You Could have searched for this
