Ok, the best way i can think of to start this question off is:

Im working w/ pc 3200 Corsair XMS my problem is when i get my XP-2550 mobile up to 12 by 225 it starts to get a bit unstable nothing real bad almost everything works and my system won't crash just a few games don't like the oc. SO in talking w/ a few people Im wondering about up grading to pc4000 or something around this area but, compared to pc 3200 the latencies all sux. But since the latencies are higher compared to 3200 im not sure i will have to lax them out when i hit high oc's. In point of fact thats what im asking... if anyone has any experience with this please let me know. You all know what its like hitting a ceiling so.... ya thanx in advance for any help rendered and sorry bout the long post. All my machine specs are in my sig. Thanx

Don't really get the question m8 ( not being rude ) :confused:
 
i dont know much about all this fast ram, its too expensive for me, but i presume that pc4000 needs to lag more than slower ram at the same speed or people wouldnt be complaining, but remember the more you underclock it the more you can lower the stock timings... and remember to take a step back and accept you are going to hit at ceiling at some point :p

edit: the timings they give are for when its running at full speed so you dont have to raise them when you get above 200fsb if thats what you're asking
 
Chem is quite right. Running memory underclocked will result in faster timings. I find that Corsair makes excellent memory for oc'ing. It lets me run 2-2-2-5 timings with an oc'ed 2.8B on pc3500 XMS RAM cuz my mobo only goes up to pc2700.

However, you have to compare the possible performance difference of a slightly higher oc to the price you would pay for that kind of memory (a lot).
