I've been looking for a few days now and I intend to buy some new ram. I would like to go to 2x 1gb kits in dual channel. My specs are below, but just incase I have a MSI K9A Platinum MB which supports PC2 6400 @ 800 and up to 8gb. (Still working on my 32bit OS problem) I would like for this to be really good ram about $100-$150. I'm not much of the OC'r I don't have the kind of money readily available if I screw something up. (Better safe then sorry) I bomb my last PC doing this OCing and I guess not buying correct parts, wasting about $1500 or more.
I have been thinking about this. That one has some nice timings and I like it. But it clearly states "Manufactured with Micron D9 Chips" None of the ram I've seen to date say anything like this, so it puts me at unease. I'm sure I can google it, but it's getting late.. What exactly is Micron D9 Chips? Is this good, or bad?
Also, I've seen some ram mention SLI / Crossfire certified, how important is this? As soon as I get a Crossfire certified PSU "Hiper HPU-4K580" (Different topic, different thread) So since I will be runing in Crossfire shortly down the road, should I look more at this?
As well any other suggestions are certainly welcomed! I thank all of you in advance!
