Hello,

Was using DDR2 Gskill Ram 2x2Gb sticks.
Now I had bought used 2x2Gb sticks Gskill brand same latency/timings/volts... but after installing new sticks PC wont boot.

I tried the following:
1] Used single Ram in each diff. slot
2] Reset CMOS (done via jumper as I cant find battery on my mobo)
3] tried 2 run memtest86... but as pc wont boot I cant Run it.

Anything else I can do to troubleshoot... ?

PS: My Mobo is Asus P5Q Deluxe

Did your CMOS properly reset?
You should have had a message saying defaults loaded or similar.

Just because they are the same brand, latency, and volts doesn't necessarily mean that they use the same ICs.

Are they the same exact part number?

You could try using your two old sticks and bumping up the RAM voltage one or two notches in the BIOS, turn it off, and then install the additional sticks and see if it works.

There is a possibility that you have a bad RAM slot in your motherboard.

If bumping up the voltage doesn't help (don't exceed 2.3V, preferrably not even 2.0V), try running just one of the new sticks with just one working stick, preferrably one with slower timings. If that setup works, then you may want to try the risky practice of reprogramming the SPD (SPDtool may work) of the bad G.Skill to slower speeds.

try what cyclone and larry said...
Put known working RAM in..slop timings up..add ..I'd only go up to 2.25 or so..DRAM voltage..
If it doesn't fly after doing that and the old sticks work in the same slot ;You got some bad sticks...get refund if possible.
DDR2 dies..It does..
I might have about 3GB extra ..all 1gb d9s
