Many people mount it on the top and it works fine, you probably won't have any problems out of it if you mount it on the top or the rear (with a radbox), as long as you have good waterflow (strong pump that is) and good airflow it should be fine. The order you put your stuff in doesn't really matter (or thats what I hear, I'm sort of new to WC'ing so don't take my word for it), but bleeding the system can be really easy if you have good tube routing or it can take forever and not be so easy if you have bad tube routing. It's my understanding that you want the reservoir (if you have one) to be above eveything else. I know some of the stuff I said was a little off topic but just lettin you know.

well my pumps 'only' 500 l/hr. however i think it should be ok for this. how can i put the res above everything. dont you mean res above pump? atm the res it attatched to the pump but ill be getting a laing d5 and a big res. ive got stand-offs ready looks like top of case.

Well, it's just easier to bleed the system if the reservoir is above everything, when I redid my tubing I made it so my reservoir was above everything and made it super easy and quick to bleed, like I said, it also has to do with tube routing. When I say above everything I mean that the reservoir is higher up than everything else in the loop.
As you can see, the reservoir is on the right, it's not above the CPU block so I have to lift it up when I'm bleeding the system, but it makes it super easy to bleed, if all you are going to WC is a CPU and GPU, that seems like a great way to do the tubing. Also, yes the radiator is above the reservoir but the barbs are below it, thats what matters IMO.
You're better off orienting it vertically. Get some shelf brackets from a hardware store and set the thing up so that it stands upright.
Make sure the rad gets exposed to as much cool room air as possible. This is very important if you want to avoid a cooling short circuit (whereby system heat cannot be removed).
Higher mounting is better if you're running without a reservoir and your pump has plenty of power.
