that q9550 looks good. what's with 8.5 multiplier though? havent seen one of those before
 
I find it odd that they went with a 6MB or 6MBx2 arrangement.

Its always been a double progression (512K, 1MB, 2MB, 4MB, 4MBx2) I'm wondering why they didn't do 8MB or 8MBx2. Could they be running out of room for cache technology?

Half multi's are hardly new.I like the Q9300/9450 though over the 9550.316 is the prefect price point for me.I dont think that they are running out of room,just thats what the engineers decided on for this architecure.
