Hey I just installed my computer maybe 10 minutes ago. Put arctic Silver Paste. I'm on a q6600, antec p180, gigabyte ga-p35-ds3r, 2 Gigs crucial, ram, 2 hard drives. Right now the cores are from 43 - 37 C. I'm on kinda hot carpet?? Is that too high? I have a Tuniq Tower, did i put it on wrong. Or I heard that the arctic Silver drops the temperatures in the next couple days. I used the Arctic Silver Paste method from their website, and i let the Tuniq Tower sit on it. I didnt smear it all over. Is this too high? I'm paranoid because this is my first build, and I was really hoping I could OC, just the slightest bit. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Its not OC'd yet... = / was hoping I could. 26 - 27 C ? My computer is also facing the wall. Not best for air management. But do these Temperatures seem to decline after a few days, with the arctic paste. This is b3 stepping

Should I try remounting? Should the Tuniq Tower 120 screws be screwed in very hard so there's little to no movement. Or is it ok if its a little bit more loose.

Ok Remounted. Need help though. When I look at my bios in my Gigabyte p35-ds3r, It shows that my Tuniq Tower Fan is only running at 900 rpms, at max. How do I turn that up??

Are you using the supplied fan controller ? If so your bios is just reading it incorrectly if the fan is turned to the max.

use a fan controller or find in your mobo bios where the fan settings are and set it to performance.. but when under load it will automatically go up.. so dont worry about that.

get speedfan, play a game for awhile... then check the speed, you will see that it went up and you should still ahve decent temps.

High 30s is where I'm at for idle (oc 3.0@9x333 w/ mem 1066), ambient @ 24c. Using OCCT I peak @ ~58c, Orthos pushes that up to ~62c. Strangely cores 2 & 3 are always ~3c less than 1 & 2 - I might try a remount. I'm using the 120 Ultra, and I'm under volting the cpu slightly @ 1.232v (normal @ 1.28v) and ram 2.1v (SPD is 2.2v, Ballistics).
