So recently I've been thinking that my corsair tx850 (rma'd) was clicking because the system was drawing too much power and it didn't have enough power left for the fans. Im saying this because all the psu calculators I've been using tell me i need a 950+ psu after taking into account all my system components and capacitor aging. However I'm not really sure if I should trust calculators coming off of sites that are trying to sell PSU's =\ Is 850W enough? My system components are

Mobo: Asus P8P67 Pro
Cpu: Intel Core i7 2600k ~ 1.48V 5.2ghz
Gpu: 2 x XFX HD6950 in crossfire
Fans: 1 x Scythe slipstream 2k RPM (120mm)
2 x TY-140 (140mm)
3 x Silverstone AP 181 (180mm) -> adapter that attaches all three to one 4-pin mole
HDD: 2 x 2tb seagate barracuda 7200 rpm (not raid)
SSD: 120gb OCZ Vertex 2
DvD-R: Sony optiarc cd/dvd combo drive.

+ a mouse,keyboard,wireless headset and flashstick.

Seems to me that 850 is plenty for your setup. It probably is pushing it when benching but other than that it should be enough.

I would say that 850 is more than enough for that. especially coming from a quality unit like a corsair!

The power draw of your PC is nowhere near 850W, let alone more than that. I'd estimate maybe 600W at maximum load.
