I bought a XG Magnum 500w psu and installed it to day. It didn't turn on. When I press the power button, it begins to turn on then shuts off (just a slight turn of the internal fan) and the voltage reader on the back of the psu jumps up then back down again.

I tried touching the green to black leads on the motherboard connector and again it trys to start but never gets going.

I plugged in my old OCZ psu to try and diagnose the problem and everything worked seamlessly. Any idea what might be wrong with my new XG Magnum?

Could be a DOA. Since another PSU actually worked, then it's more than likely you got a dud.

So either return it or RMA it.

yes i was afraid of that. such a pain in the ass. i think this is the third time I've had to rma computer crap.
