new psu needed suggestions?

1 bluegears sc
2 blowers
2 120mm fans
1 8800gt ssc
1 card reader 3.5 slot

running a hiper 580 with a 250 thermaltake 250watt for my vid card only. I want to get rid of this and replace my current psu. anyone have suggestions for a nice modular one that will be good for a quad core and a 9800/9900 card in the future?

If modular is key, the Corsair 620HX @ $150 is your best choice for a power supply with headroom.

620W should be more than sufficient. I'm running what is essentially that, but with a Q6600 (at 3.2GHz right now, still testing), minus the killer nic on a 430W seasonic. *flame suit on*

If you're going to run 2 9900's or something 800W would be useful, but other than that it's overkill.

Been using a HX620W for over a year and performance is spotless. Rig is kind of similar to OPs. (using a 8800GTS 640MB which pulls a smidge more juice). I coulda done with less, but in case I want to go Crossfire it's nice to have the extra room.

You are basically paying 50 bucks for modular because by most accounts those HX620 PSU's will still run at 80+% at 750W even at 50C. I wasn't able to test this myself because the only PSU tester I have maxes out at 700W. It did that at 80% and 50C...unfortunately I had to give it back to my buddy when done.

i went with the 620 modular one, my computer last night wouldnt power up and when it tried it stuttered like there wasnt enough juice, so i tossed both the psus i had in my machine and just ordered the 620 from newegg thanks everyone.
